Good to see another tyre in the 215/70 x 15" size.
My car has Avon CR6ZZ tyres fitted, which although they don't look "period" are extremely good.
They have the advantage of good grip and not too deep a tread, so that when they get old and hard, you don't feel you are throwing away a tyre with lots of life left in it !
There are now also available a Pirelli Cinturato HS CN 12 tyre, which look right, as a alternative to XWX's.
I've just bought four for my Khamsin, saving about £200 over XWX's
