My driver side seatbelt latch finally disintegrated. T-Rutland’s recommended J.C/ Whitney as a source but I want to use the existing lap and shoulder strap if possible with latch pin 1x1. Anyone have any experience using Beam belts. Does the 400 series use the same latch.
Thanks for any information you might have.

I broke a seat belt buckle 11 years ago by crushing it when I returned the seat back to its full and upright position. I was able to source the same buckle, but with a different button from Fred Petroske at http://mostlybritish.com/ I took it apart and replaced the button for an exact match. I also rewebbed all my belts for safety back in 2003. Prestige did that (see suppliers). Note that US cars had a variety of different seat belt/buckle types so your mileage may vary.

I believe Snake-oyl is the only supplier in the U.S. that still has this type buckle. I replaced the two front and ordered a spare for insurance.
C.S. response to my email:
"These are what we call exploding buckles, a poor design used for only a couple years. We have a few original restored buckles. They are $125 each plus $12.50 to unstitch your broken buckle and stitch the new one on."
The push button is silver and has a design. I figure it can be painted over without too much fuss. The plastic surround has 4 tabs. The two front tabs are easy to spring back and release but the back ones are hidden behind the spring mechanism and very difficult to release without breaking.
I doubt I would have located these without the tip from Mike.
Thanks.

I think the correct belts for our cars are static belts.
I think that the original patents for inertia reel belt mechanisms were not taken out until about 1970-1971
but I am not absolutely certain

Hi Roberto,
I own my car since 1980 and I think, that in the 7 years before, there would not be changed something on the car, so it may be still original. It is an Euro car and has static 3 point belts.
I know only www.quickfitsbs.com and this link is recommandet by the British Rolls Royce Enthusiasts club.

Hello all- I'm back with the finished product. Just installed the front belts today. These are US market buckles and I can't inagine they would be different than European buckles.
They were produced in limited numbers and few are left, so if the pictures match, get yours now at non-Ferrari pricing. Snake-Oyl.com
I requested that no paste on symbol be placed on the push button and had it painted flat black which is a perfect match. I never mentioned ferrari to them to keep the price stable. Talk Ferrari at your own risk. They restiched my belts but also could have replace them with their materials. Your dealing with a Texas company.
Buckle $125
restich $12.50 - I think
Don't be in a hurry for turn-around
My hats off the the tip I received on this thread.
Merry Christmas
Straightpipes Tom
